*Editor’s Note: Remember when I said that PNE does NOT support the “Stop Snitching” campaign? I meant it. I know that speaking in terms of the streets, ‘snitching’ can prove dangerous. But I seriously LOATHE those who murder because they haven’t learned how to deal with their own emotions. THIS is the reason Terrence Carruth must be put on blast. Isn’t it IRONIC that he has the same last name as the “man” who murdered Cherica Adams back in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1999? I know you guys remember Ray Carruth, no? And what’s even MORE eery is that Rae and Terrence favor each other quite a bit. Nonetheless,Terrence Carruth (link is a clickable Myspace page created to blast him. You can also click HERE for his REAL Myspace, which is OBVIOUSLY private and hasn’t been logged into for months) is wanted for the MURDER of a rising rap star by the name of Kyrief Mosby. Because first hand accounts can usually prove more fruitful than whats often fabricated in the media, I received a statement from the victim’s girlfriend and mother of their unborn child. She reached out to PNE in hopes of being able to find SOMEBODY who can bring the KILLER to JUSTICE!!
PhotobucketOn Feb. 6, 2008, I witnessed my boyfriend, and father of my unborn child, being fatally stabbed to death in front of our residence. The suspect, Terrence Carruth, quietly and swiftly came from the side of our house and ambushed my boyfriend Kyrief Mosby. He was stabbed approximately ten times and later died at Grady Memorial Hospital. Terrence Carruth was my sister’s ex boyfriend and was incarcerated for six months for trying to murder her. The judicial system released him because he was a first time offender. The system dropped his aggravated assault charge, which was the most serious felony charge.
PhotobucketKyrief Mosby was destined to be a rising rap star. He and his group were recently signed with Teddy Riley. Kyrief was a determined, motivated, happy, young man who never got into any trouble with the law. Saddened to say his promising career was interrupted by Terrence Carruth.
There are few mistakes that the media has made that I would like for people to know. One, my sister was not at the scene of the crime. She was at work. Two, the event did not happen in my house. It happened outside in front of my house.
A lot of people wonder what the motive was behind Terrence murdering Kyrief, since they did not know each other. The motive simply was because Terrence was jealous of what he could not have with my sister, so he hurt someone close to her. He wanted to destroy someone else’s happiness that was close to her, since he could not be happy. Kyrief Mosby was also viewed as a threat, in order to get to my sister or myself.
Terrence Carruth was recently placed on the Dekalb’s Most Wanted List and is considered dangerous. If you know of any information please contact the police at (770) 724-7850.

Murder: Holliman “Family Affair”

*Editor’s Note: (Pictured Above: Lesleye, top left; Anthony, top right;Annetta, bottom left; Yulonda, bottom right) Long gone are the days of yore when families took vacations together, went to dinner together, maybe went to Blockbuster and made it a night…together. Not the Hollimans. I’m assuming that their idea of spreading good ole family love consists taking a trip to the local gun store and shooting random animals in the street. Hmm…a family that kills together, stays together. Hopefully they’ll “stay” in jail for a long time for this ridiculousness. Apparently the community felt equally as ticked off because someone set the Holliman house ablaze during Demesha’s homegoing service.
PhotobucketGrandma wielded a stun gun. Mom used pepper spray. The teenager, known as “Half Pint,” brandished a steak knife.
And when the three generations of East Side women were done, a 15-year-old girl was dead, police and prosecutors said.
Demesha Sharp’s (pictured left) death during a melee late Friday near an East 140th Street bus stop was the culmination of a yearlong feud with 17-year-old Lesleye Holliman, who stabbed Demesha with the knife, officials said.
Prosecutors said the Holliman family knew Demesha had appeared in their North Collinwood neighborhood and went out looking to attack her.
“The hatred that must have been there, to see the victim and to go and get everyone and come back and kill her,” Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Carmen Naso said Monday. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Lesleye was arraigned in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court Monday, where a lawyer denied the charges on her behalf. Annetta Holliman, 60, and her daughter Yulonda, 32, are being held on suspicion of murder but have not been charged.
Demesha and her family had lived in the North Collinwood neighborhood but moved away. The feud between the girls and their families continued to simmer, though, and it reignited Friday when Demesha returned to her former home to collect mail.
Laverne Harris, who lives near Demesha’s former home on Darley Avenue, said the young girl had been harassed often when she lived there.

*Editor’s Note: I’m STILL trying to understand why this guy was released from prison the FIRST time he was there. I really don’t get it. For those who missed it, I did a story yesterday called Massacre on Lester Street. Please read that article first to understand my questions in the beginning.
Original Article Found at My Eyewitness News
The man accused of killing six people on Lester Street in March 2008 appeared in court Monday, April 7. He is accused of killing his brother, Cecil Dotson, Marissa Williams, Shindri Roberson, Hollis Seals and two of his nephews.
Jessie Dotson was on parole when the murders were committed – having served 13 years of an 18-year sentence for second degree murder. Eyewitness News Everywhere has obtained the parole hearing tapes of Jessie Dotson convincing the parole board to let him out of prison. During the hearing, Dotson’s family begged for his release, calling him a “changed man.”
“I have learned from my mistakes by being here,” Dotson told parole board members. “Back then, I did not listen to nobody. I did not care about other people’s feelings, none of that. But now, I take all of that into consideration.”

Releasing the Demons

*Editor’s Note: This was truly a sad case. This woman needs to be set up for some sort of mental evaluation. In addition to her killing all FOUR of her kids in cold blood, she kept them in the house upstairs and stayed in the same home with the electricity OFF. Yes, this woman has issues. May those beautiful babies rest in peace. Because I do not want to leave any of you out of the loop, please click HERE to read about 6 social workers being FIRED for KNOWING that things were wrong in the Jacks’ clan and not doing ANYTHING about it. It’s a shame when the black children don’t matter enough.
Original Article Found at Washington Post
PhotobucketA Southeast Washington woman accused of killing her four daughters told police that they were “possessed by demons” and that they had been dead for at least four months before marshals found their bodies, according to police and charging papers filed yesterday.
Authorities said they believe the girls, ages 5, 6, 11 and 17, could have been killed as early as May, noting that the bodies were in an advanced stage of decomposition when discovered Wednesday by marshals serving eviction papers at the two-story brick rowhouse. The mother, Banita Jacks, lived a hermitic existence with the bodies upstairs, in a house that had its electricity cut off in September.
Authorities said that Jacks has denied killing the children and said they died in their sleep. Prosecutors said evidence shows otherwise. Brittany Jacks, 17, had three puncture wounds consistent with a stabbing near the neck, they said. Tatianna Jacks, 11, and N’Kiah Fogle, 6, had marks suggesting they were strangled. Aja Fogle, 5, had less-pronounced marks consistent with strangling and signs of blunt-force trauma to the back of her head, prosecutors said.

*Editor’s Note: Although I won’t say that I support suicide or murder, I will say that this story was extremely sad. Also, I don’t necessarily believe in making excuses for anybody. What I will say is that I’m SURE that most of us know what it feels like to struggle..to feel as though you don’t know how you’ll survive to the next paycheck, IF you’re even getting one to begin with. Obviously this woman felt as though she was a burden to those who were trying to help her and that she had failed her daughters. Its unfortunate that those two young girls, Jazelyn (3) and Teleanna (11), won’t get a chance to try and make it on their own in this world. I’m only going to post a snippet of this story here but I’m going to encourage you all to read it. It’s a truly heartbreaking story. I just hope that she is at peace with HERSELF now….

She had his gun and she was leaving.
He followed in his car, half-dressed, as she stormed away from his house. Get in the car and come home, he pleaded. You can turn this around.
His focus shifted to her daughters, trailing behind. Please come back.
But LaRhonda N. Mason had already decided that her family would not see the new year.
Her daughters, Teleanna, 11, and Jazelyn, 3, followed her down a Jennings sidewalk on a freezing New Year’s Eve, leaving behind the friend who, for more than two weeks, had given them shelter, food and let them do their homework on his coffee table and watch his cable TV.
“But all of that wasn’t hers,” the friend said, interviewed last week at his home, a meticulously kept one-story house off of West Florissant Avenue.
“I guess she felt maybe someday I would say, ‘You all got to go.’ And she’d be right back to where she started.”

*Editor’s Note: Yet ANOTHER case of a woman who lets some knuckle headed thug move in with her and become the ‘daddy’ to her kids. Now she has to rot in prison for felony child endangerment. Although I feel that the males in these situations are at fault, I still tend to look more unfavorably at the mothers, for they are the ones who bore the child. And to so willingly and unapologetically allow another man to even THINK ‘spanking’ their own flesh and blood will continue to astound me for the rest of my days on earth. If at any point you have to question whether or not to keep a random dude from the streets over your child, that’s the exact minute you should relinquish all responsibility of said child to someone who REALLY gives a damn.

PhotobucketA Toledo couple were arraigned in court Thursday on felony child endangerment charges.
Antoinette Hairston, 25, admitted to seeing her boyfriend, twenty-year-old Mitchell Moore beat her son. Moore has admitted to beating the child.
Initially, Hairston took her son to the hospital saying she left him alone in the bath tub and he slipped, falling under the water. In the hospital, doctors noticed signs of abuse such as bind marks on the boy’s wrists, burn marks on his legs and punch marks on his rib cage. It is believed he was beaten with a belt and clothes hanger.
Police report that around 5:57 p.m. on Dec. 26, they responded to a call at Toledo Hospital of an infant in critical condition. The child passed away while police were en route to the hospital.
Toledo Police Captain Ray Carroll told News 11, “It’s nothing short of torture. Horrible abuse to an innocent child less than two-years-old. It’s beyond comprehension.”
The Lucas County Coroner’s Office is conducting an autopsy Thursday to determine the exact cause of death and how long the abuse was taking place. Depending on the coroner’s findings, the child endangerment charges could be upgraded to murder.
Relatives told News 11 that Hairston has only been dating Moore for three months and that she was getting ready to leave him. They also said her other two children, ages four and six, have come forward with stories of abuse.

*Editor’s Note: Whoever did this is truly sadistic. Ms. Harvey was already dead via gunshot wound when she was set on fire. Seriously, now? I tried to find articles related to the capture of her killer but after making calls to the Los Angeles Robbery & Homocide Division, I found that they had not yet caught anyone. If you or anyone you know has ANY information regarding the death of Nicole Harvey, you are encouraged to contact Detective Martinez at (213) 485-2129.

On Friday, January 26, 2007, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a body, later identified through fingerprints as Nicole Harvey, was discovered fully engulfed in flames in the street gutter of the 8100 block of Tuscany Avenue in the Playa del Rey area of Los Angeles. Further investigation revealed that Ms. Harvey was also shot with an unknown type handgun. Despite a door-to-door search for possible witnesses, no one has come forward with any information which would assist detectives in developing leads in this murder investigation.

*Editor’s Note: *sigh* I was on Myspace a couple nights ago and received a message from a young lady I hadn’t spoken to in quite some time. We exchanged pleasantries and she then asked me about this website. I explained to her what its purpose was and that I actually operate the site by myself. She then told me about Troyce…I immediately wanted to find out whatever I could regarding his death. I Googled, I Yahoo’ed, I Excite’ed, Lycos’ed….and the only things that I was able to put up was the fact that he graduated in about 2002 from Chamblee High School (in Georgia) and THIS Myspace page. I swear it’s so frustrating to think that the police, news media…nobody cares enough to at least post ONE freakin’ article so that we (the viewing public) would have access to this information. I digress. I did find out that he was actually murdered at a gas station in Decatur, GA…which is in Dekalb County. After being given MUCH run around, hung up on, probed as to “why this information was important to me,” and so on, I received a call back from a detective who pointed me in the right direction of WHO we’d need to speak to, should we have ANY information related to this man’s death.
Case#: 07124259
Case Being Handled by: Detective R.S. Davis

I’m sorry that this is all that I have. I really am. But if anyone has ANY information related to this case, you are encouraged to contact the number posted. *Editor’s Note: Apparently this story was shared all across the world. I must’ve been living under a rock during its spreading because I had not heard anything of this story until a good friend, Royale, hipped me to it. And here lies my aggravation. First off, I want to say that I believe that people can change. I think that I am (somewhat) of a prime example of that. All of us, no matter your ethnic background or socio-economic standing, have “issues.” You can deny it all you want and say “Oh not me,” but at that point, you’re truly living in denial. PERIOD! With that being said, there are SOME people who, no matter how many stabs at life you give them, WON’T change. I have a “cousin” who is always in and out of jail. Matter of fact, I’m pretty certain that he’s there right NOW. But my family and I would always comment that he must LOVE going to the slammer and rocking that orange one piece. Otherwise, he’d make the necessary changes to rehabilitate himself. However, once he was given BACK to the streets, he’d do something else (that was much worse than the previous thing) to land himself right back in jail. I’m sure that you all are wondering “What is the point”…well, here it goes.

Four Adult Victims of the Lester Street Massacre
When I find a story that I’m interested in posting on PNE, it doesn’t take me long to research it. I usually have about 5 or more tabs open, flip/flopping between them, trying to learn as MUCH as I can before I post it up on the site. During the course of my “mini” research, I found a news story that stated that Jessie Dotson (the MURDERER shown above) had been in and out of prison all his life. He started to get in trouble at the age of 15 years old, threatening to kill his mother, beating up on his siblings and even blackmailing youth to get things from them. He once went to jail and served time for murder. During his stint in jail, he was disciplined over 29 times times for disorderly conduct. 29 times and he was STILL released from prison?
As I stated before, I can TRULY believe that people have the ability to change. Some do so, some don’t. He was clearly not one of those types, so my question to the judge presiding over this case and who allowed his dangerous butt to be released is WHY when he posed an obvious threat to society? WHY was he allowed to have another chance at life when he murdered someone, for one…and then had the nerve to go in jail preserving his “hardness,” only to be disciplined because of his actions? I will never understand this.
Further, even if you look at past police reports, you’ll see that he was truly more of a harm than good to those closest to him…if he would so willingly threaten the woman that gave him life, he’d clearly have NO conscience when it comes to killing off his fellow mankind. I’m all about fair treatment within the judicial system, especially as it pertains to black men, as they are usually thrown in jail for simply having a nice ride. But there are instances such as these that truly disgust me, that make me say “let his butt STAY in jail.” Truly an incident where I don’t mind my tax dollars going to “the system” so heathens like him can stay locked up forever.
I don’t care what his purpose was in doing it this. Reports claim that he did it because of an alleged drug deal (are we surprised?) gone bad. However, there were several blogs that indicated that Dotson was jealous of the relationship that his brother, Cecil, had with another woman that he (the murderer) apparently dated at one point.
I digress…even if they don’t hit that sucker off with 50 years of natural life PLUS 9 life sentences (6 for each life he took and 3 for the others who were injured), he should at least be subjected to a public hanging by his NUTS for senselessly killing innocent children. Some of the ‘chopping and splitting’ he did with the knife was truly barbaric and he had NO REAL rhyme or reason for the acts he committed. Drugs or no drugs, jealousy or void of it….those are KIDS, man. Children. End of story! This is not to take away from the ‘older’ victims but children have no say so in ‘grown things.’ Why punish them?
Instead of posting the article as I normally do (since this blog entry is so long), I will post links that I found incredibly interesting, chilling and informative. Please click them to read about this horrific tragedy. Whether you’ve heard of it or not, its still news to most of us! May all the victims rest in peace!

As we reported some days ago the girlfriend to Andy Wildrick from The Junior Varsity went missing last week. Associated Press reports: A body found in a burned-out chicken house in Mississippi is that of missing Illinois State University senior Olamide Adeyooye, who was last seen two weeks ago at a video store, authorities said Wednesday. Dental records were used to identify the 21-year-old’s badly burned body. Authorities did not release a cause of death.
“As far as the cause of death, we believe she was already deceased when the body was dropped off in Newton County (Mississippi),” Newton County Sheriff Jackie Knight said. “We have investigators from Illinois here with us but we believe the actual death took place in Illinois.”
Knight said he was not aware of any signs of sexual abuse.
Normal Police Lt. Mark Kotte said authorities were still investigating how Adeyooye, who was last seen Oct. 13 in the central Illinois city where she went to school, ended up in Mississippi. Her car, a green 1996 Toyota Corolla, still was missing Wednesday.
“Bloomington-Normal is a very safe community and this is an incident that is extremely rare,” Kotte said. “It is not an incident of somebody going around preying on college students.”
Kotte said some people questioned by investigators will be questioned again, although police said none are suspects.
“We still have a list of persons of interest and that hasn’t really changed. We still have quite a few people that we need to talk to, and also people now that we will be re-interviewing,” Kotte said.
Adeyooye’s father, Adiodun Adeyooye, said he wants to see justice.
“I believe Olamide’s spirit will find the culprit. Whoever might have killed her, Olamide’s spirit will find him out in Jesus’ name,” he said.

I’m definitely not surprised to hear that some are QUICKLY shouting how this is ‘not gang related.’ Everything related to black men and death ISN’T gang related, so why is there any level of surprise? Clifton Hibbert Jr. seemed to be a young man going places. The son of Jamaican immigrants, he did well at Santa Monica High School and won a scholarship to Cal State Northridge. At 22, he was only a few weeks away from graduation.
He aspired to become a lawyer.
“He was a person with integrity,” said his mother, Donna Brown. “He was compassionate. He loved his family. He was focused on his future.”
But Friday, shortly before 2 a.m., Hibbert and a friend, Kenneth Patterson, 23, were found gunned down. Police said they and two other youths had driven to an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Figueroa Street in South Los Angeles, a neighborhood of frequent drug deals and gang- related crime.
Two of the youths dropped off Hibbert and Patterson and drove around the corner to find parking, and then heard gunshots, they told police.
Police found Hibbert and Patterson shot in the head. They were pronounced dead at the scene. A police source said they may have been victims of a robbery-related homicide; an investigation is underway. “Somebody knows what happened out there,” said LAPD Cmdr. Andy Smith. “Right now it is a mystery to us.”

A family reunion in Florida turned into a tragic occasion when a Louisiana man and his adopted son drowned trying to rescue three relatives from a rip current.
Gregory Carson of Slidell and Dominique Chatman were staying with other family members in Miramar Beach on the Gulf Coast, The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported.
On Tuesday, the beach was under a yellow-flag warning, urging swimmers to be cautious. But when Carson and Chatman noticed that three of their relatives were in trouble they jumped in the water and swam out to assist them.
The other three were rescued by lifeguards with help from other swimmers. By the time Carson and Chatman were pulled from the water they had gone into cardiac arrest.
Carson celebrated his 20th wedding anniversary this year, while Chatman, adopted by the Carsons when he was a teenager, had postponed his honeymoon to attend the reunion.
“We were a very, very close-knit family, so we are devastated,” Carson’s wife, Dana, said. “They were heroes in life and heroes in death.”

*Editor’s Note: This is another interesting story that I found. Apparently, Ms. Harris was murdered by a married man that she was seeing. In several articles found online, you’ll notice that they pointed out that “he was white, she was black.” I sat here thinking “How odd? Why do they feel the need to point that out?” I then went looking for her on Myspaceand found her page. Even though this may have NOTHING to do with the way the article(s) was/were written, I wonder if the author of the article(s) came across her page as well:

It should also be noted that she was actually pregnant with his child.

Thirty-4-year-old Staff Sergeant Scott Ansman is expected in court today to enter a plea to first-degree murder.
Ansman allegedly bludgeoned to death JoAnn Crystal Harris last week. The woman was in the process of being recruited into the Guard.
Culver City Police Lt. Ron Iizuka described the killing as a “domestic dispute,” saying Harris and Ansman were in a relationship.
Ansman, a 15-year military veteran, joined the guard five years ago and has worked as a full-time supply sergeant at the armory since 2004.

Anyway, Cherrese DID have a Myspace page. It’s always SUPER sad reading some of the comments left behind by some of their friends and family members.

Cherrese Richardson-Frederick’s body lay in a pink coffin yesterday, her hands crossed over her lap and her fingers curled around a flower. The 18-year-old Prince George’s County high school senior, killed last week in a drive-by shooting as she was walking home from school, seemed to have been granted a peace at her funeral that was deprived her in the final moments of life.
Hundreds of mourners, many of them her classmates at Charles H. Flowers High School, gathered at New Southern Rock Baptist Church in Northwest Washington. Stamping their feet clean of snow, they filed past Richardson-Frederick’s body, said a few words and found their way to the pews as gentle piano music played.
Last week, police charged three Lanham teenagers with first-degree murder in Richardson-Frederick’s death

*Editor’s Note: I know that I said that the focus of this website is to bring to light stories regarding blacks, as we are sorely misrepresented in the media concerning murder, abduction and unjust court cases. However, in doing some researching today, I found a story of a young hispanic girl named Nixzmary Brown. She was tortured, sexually abused and MURDERED by her…take a guess. Come on….I encourage you…take a guess.
Her mother’s husband…aka her STEPfather…aka NOT the baby’s daddy…bka ANOTHER incident where a mother’s poor relationship choices have costs her her child’s life. According to reports, she was charged as well for not doing anything while all of this took place. And to think, this was ALL over some yogurt?
It truly breaks my heart to hear stories about children who aren’t loved. I’ve never wished to have an insane amount of riches but if I DID, I would surely help save some of these kids. Mad because your daughter is text messaging a boy? Upset that your child messed up your time with your precious X Box? Or wait, maybe you’re mad because your child is being a child and asking for NORMAL things like YOGURT?! If I had it, I swear I’d build some type of safe haven for kids like Nixzmary to feel safe and never have to worry about being hurt over things that don’t matter.

In the eyes of her stepfather, 7-year-old Nixzmary Brown was an out-of-control troublemaker. She stole money from her parents and broke her siblings’ toys, she stole milk from a younger sibling and broke their computer printer, he said.
And when he found that she had gone into the refrigerator and taken a cup of yogurt she wasn’t supposed to have, he flew into a rage.

*Editor’s Note: Hopefully more can be done to help solve this murder mystery. He was obviously loved by many as there are several Facebook groups dedicated to his memory. I’m just disturbed that there are so many murders that take place that go unsolved and untold. Like I said, the media cant always report everything but I just think that they need to be a little more proactive in their story telling. Just shoving all the black stories to the back as though we don’t matter is not going to cut it!

Courtney James was one of the best running backs in Bellaire High School history. In his senior year, he rushed for nearly 1,000 yards.
He was all-district, heavily recruited and full of life.
A life that — at the age of just 21– is now over.
11 News has learned a body found dumped three weeks ago at the far end of Staples Street was that of Courtney James. The medical examiner confirmed his identification through fingerprints.
At Bellaire High, the news of James’ death is spreading fast.
Hundreds of people have been commenting on the tragic murder and sending condolences to the James family on social Web sites, like Facebook.
“He’s been into people since he was small. He’ll talk to you, he’ll talk to everybody,” said his mother Faye. “That’s why I don’t understand. It is really, really puzzling.”
Monday afternoon, crime scene tape still marks the spot near the railroad tracks where James’ body was found.
Police say he had been shot.
Holding back tears, Ms. James said she needs some answers.
“That’s all I want. I promised that to him, promised that to him and we just need some closure,” she said.
Ms. James said there is a lot of chatter going around, and some people are talking. And with a $5,000 reward now offered, perhaps the talk will lead police to the killer or killers.

*Editor’s Note: In reading some of the comments related to the murder of Ms. Lindsey, everyone is almost certain that this could’ve been prevented. According to friends & family members, she was extremely outspoken and refused to “walk away.” It’s sad when a brawl has to resort to someone pulling out a gun just to show who has the bigger cojones. May she rest in peace.

Friends and family of a 15-year-old boy who was fatally shot while trying to protect his pregnant mother and sister from a fight are mourning as police try to determine who killed him.
Ramirez Smith Jr. died in a shooting in the 5900 block of Wixson Court Tuesday night. His mother, Shawn Smith, 33, was critically injured. She delivered a baby by Caesarean section after the shooting. The infant is also in critical condition.
Ramirez Smith was a freshman football player at Northwest High School. He had been a ball boy since sixth grade.
Teammates who were just throwing balls to him in practice a day earlier are coming to grips with what happened to their friend.
Friends and family said Smith was a jewel, both on and off the field as an athlete and honor roll student.
“Ramirez was a real humble kid. Everyone loved him for that,” said Dominique Staten, a teammate.
Football practice was canceled on Wednesday as hearts were too heavy to take the field.
“Because of the fact that such a tragedy has happened to us — loss of a teammate, but not only that, the loss of a good young man,” said Robert Roberson, a teammate.
Ramirez was shot in the front yard of his home as he came to the aid of his sister, who was fighting with a group of girls as part of an ongoing dispute. Shots rang out during the fight.
