And so continues the rest of this story. Ladies, learn to pick your men better. How can you just sit back and watch someone abuse YOUR child…YOUR flesh and blood…all on the strength of love? St. John the Baptist Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested the mother, stepfather and stepbrother of an 8-year-old Reserve boy after the child was pronounced dead in a hospital emergency room Tuesday afternoon.
A Sheriff’s Office spokesman said the boy, M.L. Lloyd, III had “obvious” signs of physical abuse on his body, but would not elaborate.
The boy’s stepfather, Errol Victor Sr., 42, was booked with first-degree murder, while his mother, Tonya Victor, 33, and stepbrother, Errol Victor Jr., 21, were booked with principle to first-degree murder shortly after 6 p.m., said Maj. Mike Tregre, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
All three were being held in the Sherman Walker Correctional Facility in LaPlace on Tuesday night.
Tregre said the boy was brought to River Parishes Hospital about 12:30 p.m. by the three adults. The child was unresponsive and medical personnel later pronounced him dead, Tregre said.
No other details regarding the boy’s death have been released. An autopsy is scheduled this morning in New Orleans.
Tregre said arrests were based on the physical signs of abuse found on the child, emergency room findings and Errol Victor Sr. ‘s statement to medical personnel “that he would take responsibility for everything.”
Tregre said 13 children, including Lloyd, had lived inside the home on Louisiana 3179 with the Victors. Nine of the children, who were younger than 18, were taken into custody by the Office of Community Services Tuesday.
While the Victors were being questioned, scores of deputies searched the family home. A comforter, two vehicles — one an Escalade that was used to drive Lloyd to the hospital — and other items were taken from the home by crime scene investigators.
In addition, investigators took some of the suspects’ clothing.
Tregre said the three were not cooperating with the investigation.

A 21-year-old Lincoln Park father was arraigned Monday on charges that he sexually assaulted and murdered his 8-day-old daughter.
During the hearing, Christopher Richardson vehemently denied that he committed the acts, repeating, “I didn’t do this” to the judge and his family.
He asked the judge if he could “give blood or something to prove that I didn’t do this, man.”
Earlier Monday, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy held a news conference to give details on what Richardson is accused of doing to his infant daughter, Neveah Richardson.
Richardson had been charged with domestic violence in the beating of his wife. Added to that charge Monday afternoon was murder, sexual assault and criminal sexual conduct against his baby.
Neveah had died as a result of an anal intrusion that caused “massive internal bleeding and sepsis” (infected blood), Worthy said in the news conference.
At his arraignment, Richardson continuously denied he was responsible, calling it “psychotic, sick …”
Police said Neveah’s mother told them that she woke up with her daughter on her chest and found her bleeding from the face and mouth.
When Richardson was brought to the hospital, health officials said she was bleeding from the nose, mouth and rectum.
Lincoln Park Police Chief Thomas Karnes said during a news conference last week that the father beat the baby’s mother on the way to the hospital. The grandparents, too, were in the car, he said.

*Editor’s Note: Can anyone say “adoption?” Why go through 9 months of pregnancy, endure labor pains/contractions and actually give birth to a child, only to leave him/her in a stairwell? I will never understand it. There are a lot of women in this world who are not able to have children but wish they could. I’m sure that reading something like this tugs at their heart strings.
An approximately 8 month old, light complected black baby girl needs your help in finding her parents.This little one was found in the stairwell of a plaza at the intersection of Leslie Street and Finch Avenue East in Toronto, ON Canada at 12:30 on 1/30/08 – a blisteringly cold day.
She was wearing a white snow suit and a green hat and underneath she had a pink jumper.
Police have reviewed security surveillance footage where she found, and have and image of a vehicle of interest – possibly a green Ford Escort. An unknown person was captured taking what is believed to be the unidentified baby and leaving her in the stairwell of a parking garage, then leaving the area. It is impossible to get a description of the person from the security footage.
A public plea for assistance was broadcasted to assist in identifying the baby, and to determine who abandoned the baby on January 31, 2008. To date, investigating officers have received no leads.

*Editor’s Note: In reading through the goings on of this case, it is clear that (one of) the killer(s) was dealing with his own demons. That’s generally how it goes…when one can’t deal with that in which they are, they either suppress it really well so they don’t HAVE to or they find hateful, violent ways of blaming the rest of the world for something that they can not control. I really wish that if people did not agree with a person’s lifestyle, that they would just let them be. Why kill someone else because you don’t agree with the way that they live? What gives a person the right to terminate another person’s life just because they think that they’re living in sin? I could not imagine someone hurting me because I’m black…or a woman…or 5’5. I mean, these are all things that I am. I swear, some people have SERIOUS issues!

Michael Sandy (October 12, 1977 – October 13, 2006) was an African American gay man from Brooklyn, New York, who died after being hit by a car while trying to escape four attackers. His attackers later said they targeted Sandy because they were seeking gays to attack and rob.
On the night of October 8, 2006, Sandy met Anthony Fortunato, 20, in an online gay chatroom and engaged in a chat with him. With Fortunato was John Fox. After exchanging emails about having sex, Fortunato arranged to meet Sandy at Plumb Beach, a rest stop and popular cruising location on Belt Parkway in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. The meeting took about an hour to arrange. Fox and Fortunato then departed for Plumb Beach with friends Ilya Shurov, 20, Gary Timmons.
Sandy drove his 2004 Mazda to the location, and met Fox first, near Emmons Avenue. The then drove to Plumb Beach, where Fortunato, Shurov, and Timmons were waiting. At about 9:45 p.m., at least four witnesses saw four white men assaulting a black man.
Shortly after Sandy arrived, witnesses saw two young white men approaching his car. At that time, Sandy was confronted by two of the young men, who began looking through his vehicle. Shurov pulled Sandy from the car and began punching him.

Unsolved Murder: Rashawn Brazell

Although the suspect has not YET been found to give his/her reasoning as to WHY he/she may have killed Rashawn, those who are heavily involved in the story are siting it as a hate crime…be it because he was black or gay. Around 3:00 a.m. on February 17, 2005, New York City transit workers found two suspicious bags alongside the track at the Nostrand Avenue station in Brooklyn. It would spark the investigation of one of the most gruesome crimes New York has seen.
One of the bags was a black trash bag. Inside it was a blue trash bag, and inside that were the body parts of a young black male.
The other bag was a beige and black tool bag with wheels and an insignia on the side that says “Rooster”. Inside this bag the police found blood-stained drill bits and other tools. Police later learned this bag was one of only 15 bags made as a prototype and sold to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in 2001.
On February 23, 2005, workers at the Humboldt Street recycling plant in New York made another gruesome discovery — more body parts were found inside a blue trash bag which had been stuffed inside a black trash bag. A day after that, workers at the recycling plant found yet another black trash bag which contained a blue bag of body parts.
The killer had carefully traced the body with a sharp instrument before cutting it apart with an electric chain saw. Every cut was clean and on a joint, indicating the killer had a knowledge of human anatomy. But mysteriously, the head was never found. Without it, the actual cause of death is unknown.
Cops finger printed one of the found hands. The prints matched those of Rashawn Brazell, who was once arrested on a minor marijuana charge. He’d been reported missing on Valentines Day — three days before the first bag of parts was found. Forensic work confirmed all of the body parts from the three bags belonged to Rashawn.
The medical examiner believes Rashawn was kept alive for two days before he was killed, dismembered and disposed of in the trash bags. The autopsy report shows cuts and stab wounds to the side of Rashawn’s torso indicating there may have been some kind of a struggle.
Cops believe the killer may have been a transit worker. “The killer or killers knew the layout. These tracks are two flights down,” said New York City Police Detective Anthony Baker. “Which leads me to believe they had some knowledge of the tracks, because nobody really goes to the unknown to dispose of something like that unless they have been there before.”

*Editor’s Note: Ten years ago in May of this year will mark the last time I was in high school. When I was there, I didn’t really feel as though I had to worry about people bringing guns to school. I felt ‘safe’ once I walked through the doors. Yea, there were fights..but during that time, we fought fair. There was no fighting that led to a bruised ego and someone bringing a gun to “finish” the job. Chicago seems to be a pretty rough area. I am in no way trying to generalize but there seems to be a huge breakout of teen deaths there. Nonetheless, here is another story where a young black man won’t get the opportunity to live up to his highest potential. May he rest in peace…..

It’s been nine days since an 18-year-old Crane High School student was shot and killed in an after-school fight.
Sunday, students gathered for a day of unity and prayer, thanks to a local church, as CBS 2′s Rafael Romo reports.
Students from Crane High School received a warm welcome Sunday morning at Evangel World Outreach Center on the city’s Northwest side.
“We have some very special guests here with us today from the Crane High School I want you to give them a great, big hand!” said pastor Ray Allen Berryhill.
The church goers were still trying to cope after a fatal shooting just a block away from Crane High School. Ruben Ivy was gunned down just after getting off from school on March 7.
“Yeah, that was Ruben, one of the guys I used to know,” said Kevin Davis, a former Crane High student. “We used to hang out in the lunch room, but to say that okay, here we go again, another killing, when is this going to stop.”
This is not only a good gesture from the church. Ruben Ivy, used to attend services at the same church. A couple of his former classmates, who now attend the religious institution, are remembering him.
“Ruben not only came, but he was instrumental in other young people coming. So today I thought it important to address this critical issue of random and senseless violence,” Berryhill said.
Thaddeus White personally knew Ivy. The college student was among those consoling his former classmates from Crane High School and offering words of hope.
“All your questions won’t be answered, but if we as teenagers can stop looking at our problems and look at our God, you know, God will be a solution to every situation that goes on,” White said.
Students received more than sympathy and prayers at church.
Berryhill invited them all to have dinner Sunday night.
Fifteen-year-old Devonte Smith has been arrested and charged as an adult in Ivy’s death.

In my humble opinion, people are able to better visualize a situation when there are pictures. I know, I know…reporting is reporting but still. Maybe its because I’m a visual person myself. Either or, hate crimes are always intolerable…but what’s funny is that just because herblack boyfriend said that she’s NOT racist, she gets a slap on the wrist for not only throwing racial epithets but for endangering the life of a Jamaican man! If you read the article, you’ll see that throwing racial slurs was common for her. However, when she decided to take those racial slurs a little further to possibly commit vehicular homicide, it went beyond the whole “sticks and stones may break my bones” adage, no? Ah, I must mention that she IS allegedly “mental” but I dunno. If you know how to piece together various racial slurs and then subsequently try to hit someone with your car, I REALLY have to put your mental state into question. You OBVIOUSLY know what you’re doing. Please read the article below and post your thoughts. Was her punishment fair? I will let you all be the judge!

REDWOOD CITY — A Belmont woman who yelled racial epithets at her Jamaican neighbor moments before driving her car directly toward him, pinning him against two cabinets, was sentenced Friday by a Superior Court judge to three years’ probation.
Janice Ann Lutz, 49, was convicted by a jury in November 2007 of felony assault. She was also charged with a hate crime, but the jury was swayed from the special allegation by her African-American boyfriend, prosecutors said.
Lutz’s boyfriend, whom she has dated for several years, told the jury during her five-day trial that she was a mean, spiteful, argumentative woman with a foul mouth and a penchant for racial slurs, but definitely not a racist, prosecutors said.
Racial attitudes aside, Lutz is definitely mentally ill, according to Superior Court doctors.
Lutz’s illness enabled her to receive probation for her felony assault conviction instead of a maximum of four years in prison. She was admitted to the county’s Pathways Program, a probation protocol designed to treat, rather than incarcerate, criminal offenders who have a serious mental illness.
The prosecution argued during the four-day trial that Lutz was well-known throughout her apartment building for racial epithets. To the black and Latino tenants, Lutz’s reputation preceded her.
A Hispanic woman who testified for the prosecution said that the number of times that Lutz used the “n-word” and a series of habitual derogatory remarks against Latinos were “too many to count,” according to Deputy District Attorney Sharon Cho.

Missing: Tierra Adams

*Editor’s Note: Here’s the story of a black woman in Texas who went missing in January. She was due to give birth to her child in February. Sadly, this story has a tragic ending…as she was found dead according to reports as of an hour ago. Click HERE or HERE to read the most recent AP article. Read the article below…I’m sure her boyfriend is suspect #1. Again, I do NOT mean to make this a black/white issue but the media trips me OUT! I dont expect them to report everything…but when Lacy Peterson went missing, we heard about that until the day she and her son, Connor, were found. Have you seen Tierra Adams?
Houston police say Adams has been missing for eight days.
She is nine months pregnant.
Adams, 25, was last seen at Bingle Road and Hwy 249 on January 29 around 1 a.m. Her mother said Tierra was with her boyfriend at the time.
Her boyfriend, who is the father of her baby, said he and Adams got in a fight, and he told her to get out of the car. They were a short distance from their home. She hasn’t been seen since.
She was wearing white Capri pants and a black and white top.
Adams is described as a black female, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 200 pounds.
She has a medium complexion and black hair.

Barbaric: Stacy Wilson

KINGSTOWN, St Vincent, December 15, 2006 – A 35-year old relative was yesterday charged with the brutal murder of 21 year old Stacy Wilson of Vermont, located about five miles north of the capital on the west coast.It was a dark day under grey skies and rainy conditions that the handcuffed Shorn Samuel, shielding his face, arrived at the Serious Offences Court in the capital to crowds of angry people some of whom were placard bearing demonstrators. Officers of the Special Services Unit of the Police force kept the crowd under a watchful eye but apart from a few boisterous women who demanded his head the people were peaceful.
Samuel was not allowed to plead as it was an indictable offence. During the brief court appearance he asked the presiding magistrate for bail which was quickly denied.
Protestors from the Purple Ribbon Campaign against violence against girls and women bore placards reading: “Stop the violence against women and girls” were held high in the air even before Samuel was brought handcuffed to Court and they remained there for the 15 to 20 minute duration of the appearance.
Stacy’s mother, Emelia Nanton, said that Shorn who is a distant relative had hounded Stacy for about a year now and kept saying that she was his wife.
“After we told him to stop coming around here, he would become angry and said that I was blocking him from Stacy,” Nanton said in an interview which appeared in today’s edition of the Searchlight newspaper.
Speaking of the Monday evening when she received the news she said she was sitting on her porch when two guys came running and told her that “Stacy geh chop up in town and dead.”
Moments before she had a premonition and thought something was wrong.
Reports say that the man accosted Stacy in the Leeward Bus Terminal Monday evening during rush hour when there were hundreds of people around. She brushed off his advances and boarded a mini-van. The man disappeared and came back soon afterwards with rope and a cutlass. He pulled her from the van and started his attack, cutting of a wrist and struck her head. The head did not fall. People on the scene reported that he allegedly held the neck and sawed off the head with the sword.
The killing sent shock waves throughout the Vincentian community across the world. Within hours explicit photos and videos were in circulation on the super information highway.
Police responded within minutes but were too late to save Stacy but they apprehended the man, dispersed the crowd, and secured the crime scene.

Torture: Dorothy Dixon

*Editor’s Note: Over the years, I’ve heard several stories regarding people who were abused in nursing home and mental care facilities. I remember thinking years ago as a teenager when my mother worked in a nursing home that these things never happened. The first thing that comes to mind is “Who would want to strike an old person…or a person with mental instability?” The fact is, its something that’s happening more and more every day. I’m not sure WHY Ms. Dixon did not have a traveling nurse or why these people were taking care of her. It’s a shame that she had to lose her life over OTHER people’s mental instability and a social security check.

ALTON, Illinois (AP) — Banished to the basement, the 29-year-old mother with a childlike mind and another baby on the way had little more than a thin rug and a mattress to call her own on the chilly concrete floor.
Dorothy Dixon ate what she could forage from the refrigerator upstairs, where housemates used her for target practice with BBs, burned her with a glue gun and doused her with scalding liquid that peeled away her skin.
They torched what few clothes she had, so she walked around naked. They often pummeled her with an aluminum bat or metal handle.
Dixon — six months pregnant — died after weeks of abuse. Police have charged two adults, three teenagers and a 12-year-old boy with murder in the case that has repulsed many in this Mississippi River town.
“This is heartbreaking,” police Lt. David Hayes said. “It was almost as though they were making fun of the abuse they were administering. This woman was almost like living in a prison.”
Investigators put much of the blame on Michelle Riley, 35, who they said befriended Dixon but pocketed monthly Social Security checks she got because of her developmental delays.
Dixon saw little, if any, of the money, Hayes said. For months she weathered the torment to keep a roof over her head and that of her year-old son, who weighed just 15 pounds when taken into state custody after his mom’s death.
